About bailey van tassel
Abel Impact started with just me, Bailey. But like all things, it takes a village. We are a tiny team, with lots of outsourcing to freelancers (things like bookkeeping, photography, etc.) mainly because I truly enjoying getting my hands dirty with each and every client. Also, I want to keep costs down so that our services make sense - we promise expertise, responsiveness, and a care for your business as if we are in-house with you. Because without your success, we are completely irrelevant.
I have worked with hundreds of executives and entrepreneurs who deeply wanted to make an impact and just didn't have the time to figure it out. There is a lot of distrust in the non profit space, and I am here to help you navigate.
Social impact, cause marketing, corporate social responsibility, etc. are all fairly new concepts. They are emerging as a new generation of people emerge as consumers and stakeholders. I've been on the front lines of this evolution - that was luck. The hard work came as I felt called to explore this intersection of business and philanthropy and saw a need - a need for someone to help bridge the gap between the for-profit sector and the non-profit sector to help make that collision more of a collaboration. I really started the company to help businesses do better by giving better.
SO HERE IS MY VISION: I WANT TO INCREASE THE SUCCESS OF YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT MAKES THE WORLD BETTER - BUSINESS SUCCESS MEANS MORE JOBS, MORE FREEDOM, MORE RESPONSIBILITY, MORE HAPPINESS. I FEEL THAT IF BUSINESSES ACT WITH MORE GENEROSITY, SOUL, AND VALUES-BASED THINKING THEY WILL CONNECT BETTER WITH CUSTOMERS AND DRAW IN MORE LOYAL AND HARD WORKING EMPLOYEES.
That is what I believe.
Here's a deeper glimpse into my background and why this company exists:
I grew up on a small family ranch in Northern California – raised by a village of cowboys in a community of small business owners, farmers, and overall dirt-under-your-fingernails hard workers. Even as a small girl, I was a mixture of things. Although raised around horses and hunting, I was a ballet dancer with big city dreams of high heels and boardrooms. It was this passion for both worlds, and getting to enjoy the people that come with each that led me to where I am now. I love being able to bridge the gap between two worlds – now the worlds of philanthropy and business.
My professional background is in marketing, non-profit management, sales, and fundraising. I spent many years understanding traditional sales, marketing, and PR – loving the practical and competitive nature of the private sector, but feeling it lacked some of the fulfillment I wanted. I then spent my next chunk of time working in the non-profit space with over 250 business leaders, CEOs and entrepreneurs who I led into a life of philanthropy, purpose, and impact. I have a wealth of knowledge from studying the way the private sector interacts with the social sector, and am certified in non-profit evaluation, as well as a skilled venture philanthropy project developer. I've worked with companies like Google, MasterCard, Bovespa, Club Corp, and many others.
I am an avid cook who enjoys making anything pasta-based or that is home caught, raised, or grown. I can’t help but fall in love with mompreneurs, farmers, and really anyone who has an authentic passion for what they do. I am married to a man who reminds me daily to work hard and follow my dreams, and who lets me be the cowgirl in his Midwestern heart, living with him by the beach.
